It will thoroughly prepare learners for their upcoming introductory physics courses, or more advanced courses in physics. With 100 brief lectures and over 100 problems, this comprehensive course is similar in detail and rigor to those taught on-campus. Once the modules are completed, the course ends with an exam.

Each of five modules contains reading links to a free textbook, complete video lectures, conceptual quizzes, and a set of homework problems.

The course follows the typical progression of topics of a first-semester university physics course: Kinematics, Newton’s Laws, Energy, and Momentum. Physics 101 contains over 75 equations and over a dozen simulations and tools covering the most important aspects of physics. They will gain experience in solving physics problems with tools such as graphical analysis, algebra, vector analysis, and calculus. Upon completion, learners will have an understanding of how mathematical laws and conservation principles describe the motions and interactions of objects all around us.

As I know from personal experience that some people get intimidated by “physics” or “biology,” as the terms can often lead to flashbacks of sitting in class and not understanding why we have to know every type of bone in the body. This course serves as an introduction to the physics of energy and momentum. When coming up with the name, I added the “Fun” to encourage people not to be intimidated by the website. With Physics 101 SE students can also learn the nomenclature of more than 500 variables included in the formulas. They cover several different branches of physics: thermodynamics, energy, fluids, magnetism, mass, kinematics, etc. Because my interests lean slightly towards a more physics focus, this blog is called FunPhyscis 101. The number of different formulas that the program helps you solve reaches a whopping 150. As if I am looking at light and how it is bent and slowed by certain things, does looking at the molecular structure of those things make what I am doing chemistry? Or does the idea that I started with the intention of learning about something in physics make what I learned still under the physics umbrella of knowledge? In truth, most topics can cause a debate of this sort, so I tend to keep those definitions in ambiguity and live with the fact that anything I learn about in one science can be applied just as meaningfully to any other science.

Wes guides you through the science of physics untangling and decoding complex terms and ideas into an organized and easy to use format.

However, I think the terms physics and chemistry are somewhat loose in their meaning. Physics 101 was developed and hosted by Wes Olson, Multnomah School of the Bible graduate (now Multnomah University), veteran filmmaker of 20 years, and producer of Biology and Chemistry 101. The subject matter is the evolution of scientific understanding of the physical world. Most of what I write about is science-based, and most of that writing is connected to physics. Physics 101 is an introduction to physics for non-science majors. web page for more information using the Physics LAB link at the footer.

I often will see something on TV or online, and I will be inspired to research and talk about it. PHYS 101 Laboratory work for the Fall Semester of the 2022 2023 Academic. Despite the name being FunPhysics101, this blog is not just about physics. CSU Channel Islands (CI) is the only four-year, public university in Ventura County and is known for its interdisciplinary, multicultural and international.
